Diploma of Quality Auditing

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialized, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate their own work and/or the work of a team.

Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include:

  • Internal Auditor
  • Quality Assurance Manager
  • Quality Facilitator
  • Quality and Improvement Consultant
  • Service Quality System Support Analyst.

Pathways into the qualification

There are no prerequisite requirements for individual units of competency.

Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:

  • after achieving Certificate IV in Business (BSB40207) or other relevant qualification/s, or
  • providing evidence of competency in the majority of units required for the BSB40207 Certificate IV in Business or other relevant qualification/s, or
  • with extensive vocational experience in auditing and without formal auditing qualifications.

Examples of indicative job roles for candidates seeking entry based upon their vocational experience include:

  • Administrator
  • Project Officer
  • Quality Assurance Officer.

This breadth of expertise would equate to the competencies required to undertake this qualification.

After achieving the Diploma of Quality Auditing, students may continue to a relevant Advanced Diploma.

No general licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements currently apply to this qualification at the time of publication. However, JAS-ANZ (http://www.jas-anz.com.au) is a relevant body for accrediting auditors for some kinds of government quality standards.

Students wishing to become Chartered Internal Auditors must also have a relevant Bachelor degree in their field and must also complete the examinations of the Institute of Internal Auditors.

 

Requirements

The Diploma requires a total of eight units:

Three of the four quality auditing units

  • Participate in a quality audit BSBAUD402B
  • Initiate a quality audit BSBAUD501B
  • Lead a quality audit BSBAUD503B
  • Report on a quality audit BSBAUD504B

At least two units from the following:

  • The remaining quality auditing unit,
  • The elective units:
    • Manage people performance BSBMGT502B
    • Facilitate continuous improvement BSBMGT516A
    • Manage project quality BSBPMG505A
    • Ensure team effectiveness SBWOR502A
  • Units from an equivalent level qualification within the BSB07 Business Services Training Package.

The remaining units

The remaining units may be from any currently endorsed national Training Package. At least two must be at this level or listed below, and one unit may be selected from either a Certificate IV or Advanced Diploma qualification.

Elective units must be relevant to the work outcome and local industry requirements. Units selected from other Training Packages must not duplicate units in the BSB07 Business Services Training Package.
