Appeals Against Assessment Results1
- Students appealing against an assessment result may only do so after receiving feedback from the assessor.2
- Appeals against assessment results must be lodged within two weeks of assessments being returned to the student. In the case of distance students appealing by post, the appeal will be considered to be lodged at the time the appeal is postmarked.
- The only grounds for appeal against assessment results are:
- the assessment was not conducted according to the assessment plan
- the assessment judgment was incorrect.
- A non-refundable lodgment fee is payable for appeals against assessment results. The fee is calculated as twice the nonrefundable application fee for new students.
- The initial action will be a review of the assessment by the assessor. If this does not find in favor of the appellant, then another assessment will be conducted.
- Except in mitigating circumstances, the appeal will be handled in one calendar month from the receipt of the written appeal.
- Appeals are handled by the college Principal or Administrator.
